A bargain price for an excellent product.I bought this Jacket mid January 2021 in a Kathmandu sale.I have now worn it about dozen times. It's been tested in light rain, snow and windy conditions. In ever case it's protected and kept me warm. It's easy to pack away to a small size, when it's too warm to wear.

Best in classI have been forwards and backwards in getting a good down jacket because of it's price tag but after finally buying and choosing a kathmandu one I regret procrastinating for too long. It really serves its purpose and the design and color has been praised by my friends. So I think I'm done of cheap not so good jackets and kathmandu is the brand

Disappointing jacketI bought this jacket last week, within a few days of traveling within NZ - pocket stitches around the zip started coming undone.
I am bitterly disappointed due to its poor quality considering the Kathmandu label and the relevant price range.
Sadly as a Kathmandu club member, this jacket is clearly not fit for any real adventure.
I will be returning this to my local store and seeking a refund accordingly.

Looks and feels great, very happy with this jacket. Perfect for cold unsettled weather (don’t need to get the umbrella out when going from the car to classroom or between classrooms when raining).

Also for the ladiesI am a female, size 10, who refused to even try on a puffer jacket prior to purchasing this one in XS. I wanted a comfortable and warm jacket with a good length for an winter getaway to Southland. I am stoked with this jacket. I now understand the popularity of puffers; wearing one is like wearing a portable sleeping bag, but thankfully it's actually not (I am not opposed to others wearing pyjamas in public, it just isn't for me). Yeah it tapers in like men's jackets do, so def not for those who are blessed with hips that don't lie, but it suited the purpose perfectly. It's not too puffy, perfect length, tidy and warm. Get one!
Is this jacket as warm as the merino 3 in 1 jacket? It looks very thin - looking for the warmest jacket possible:)

Warmth can be very subjective depending on the conditions like humidity or wind, as well as for down jackets the amount of down in the jacket itself. This jacket is constructed with stretch baffles to give a more fitted appearance and less bulk, and so with the less down in the jacket it would not be as warm as something like the Epiq Jacket.

Is this jacket for ok to double as a rain jacket IE if caught in the rain for up to an hour would it keep the rain out ( For Urban use)
Asked by: Craig88
This jacket has a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish – which encourages water to bead off the fabric's surface. So it would be okay if you got caught in a light rain when out and about. If it is a heavier rain you may experience some dampness as this is not a fully waterproof jacket.

Which one is better Katmandu Epiq Men Hooded or Kathmandu - Federate Men’s Stretch Down Hooded Jacket?
Is this jacket comes with any outer bag?
Asked by: Vishu
To add to Kathmandu team's accurate answer, in my opinion this is more comfortable, as it's not as bulky as the Epiq although you'll be sacrificing a little bit of warmth. This one is also easy to layer with as it's stretchy and still allows you to have full range of movement. I have both and recommend both depending on desired use and applications. (I work in cold storage and have used both jackets frequently between -18 to 2°c.)

What is the weight of this jacket?
Also is it very compressable?
Asked by: Willmac
This jacket weighs 640g in a size medium & due to it's down filled construction it is very compressible.
